Counseling for expats

Hiina was born in Japan. Having studied and worked in several different countries and being an expat herself, she understands very well that taking a step into a new world can be an exciting prospect. However, it also comes with enormous difficulties and challenges. She has been working with internationals from over 50 counties, walking them through the process of integration, diversity management, reinvention of themselves in a new environment. Also using her experiences as a relationship coach, she helps individuals improve their interpersonal and communication skills.

What are your behavioral, interactional and interpersonal patterns?

Hiina helps her clients gain insight about themselves and their life patterns. You make the same mistakes and errors and hit the wall over and over again? And keep having the same or similar conflicts with other people and you cannot wrap your heads around why this continues to happen? It doesn’t have to stay this way!

Most of the issue that we struggle with, stems from interpersonal area. Feelings of inferiority, power struggle, longing for recognition, performance anxiety, frustration, disappointment etc…All these issues occur because we are not alone. Therefore, doing a thorough analysis and understanding how we interact with people is the key. What are the feelings I often have with other people or a group? What fears and concerns do I have in this specific constellation or situation with other individuals? What are the patterns of how I act and re-act in conflict situations? What are the behaviours or reactions that I might subconsciously induce in other people which don’t necessarily end up being advantageous for either of us. What interpersonal elements encourage me or block me from achieving the best performance?

At the end of the day, there is no such thing as strong or weak personality. It’s all about how to make ourselves resilient so that we can overcome difficult situations. That includes understanding our behavioural interactional interpersonal patterns. And how we can find resources and make use of them.
