Vojta therapy

Vienna Couch Therapy Room (c) Michael Baumgartner | KiTO

In addition to congenital developmental disorders or delays, neurological, orthopaedic and traumatological problems such as MS, CP, paraplegia, scoliosis, poor posture, disc problems or joint and muscle injuries can also be positively influenced.
In contrast to other pathogenic treatment methods, the interaction of individual muscle groups is activated. Once the "muscle games" are activated, they are automatically incorporated into the patient's spontaneous motor skills without the need for additional exercises. With this "reflex locomotion", the patient is offered a physiological concept that reflexively calls up innate movement patterns that are blocked by certain circumstances and attempts to integrate them into everyday movements.
Vojta therapy is a non-verbal method, which means that patients of all ages can be treated optimally, regardless of a common language, for example.
The method was developed by Dr. Vaclav Vojta in the 1950s.
