Marlene Stöhr

Marlene supports clients with a solution-oriented and empathetic style of therapy.

Her studies at the Sigmund Freud Private University in Vienna were motivated by her interest in the complexity of the human psyche. In the course of her training, it was important for Marlene to work in the clinical psychiatric field, where she was able to gain experience that enriched her therapeutic work.

Cooperative collaboration and a relationship based on mutual respect form the foundation of Marlene'ssystemic work. It is based on mutual respect and appreciation for the other person's uniqueness and autonomy.

This involves a solution- and resource-oriented approach in order to work together with the client on new solutions. Resources are skills, ways of thinking, attitudes, characteristics, etc. that the client already possesses and which are used to achieve a (therapeutic) goal.

The difference from other therapeutic approaches is that, at the beginning of a session, the therapist typically asks about the client’s life context and the dynamics of their family of origin. Insystemic therapy, a therapeutic goal is developed collaboratively, and this goal can change over time. Previous attempts at finding solutions are also taken into account and adapted in a positive way. Marlene also offers online sessions.
