“Nothing is as constant as change.” (Heraclitus)
I would be happy to accompany you on your journey of change.
For me, treating one another with respect and on an equal footing is the foundation of a successful psychotherapeutic relationship in which growth and change can take place. The goal of my work is to create a safe space where you can feel comfortable and open up. This allows your personal autonomy to grow and flourish.
I work according to the depth psychology approach of transactional analysis psychotherapy. In depth psychology, it is assumed that childhood experiences can influence and limit us in the here and now.
The foundation of transactional analysis psychotherapy was laid in the 20th century by Eric Berne; it is a scientifically grounded approach that explains human behavior, thought, and emotion. The phrase “I’m okay, you’re okay” is a key principle of transactional analysis: all people are okay just as they are. What can be changed is people’s behavior.
Using the model of the three "I" states of personality structure (Adult "I," Parent "I," and Child "I"), one can work through one's own past experiences or adopted behaviors.
Why does this keep happening to me?
In transactional analysis, we also assume that during childhood we develop an unconscious life script about ourselves, others, and the world as a whole. If you find yourself repeatedly in the same unpleasant situations, these may be situations dictated by your script. Through what is known as “script analysis,” it is possible to bring these unconscious patterns, relationship behaviors, and beliefs into conscious awareness, thereby creating the opportunity for autonomous, self-determined change.
Change is not the end of something, but the beginning of everything that can be.
