Dr. Manuel Miksch, who was born and raised in Lower Austria, earned his HTL diploma in 2010 with a focus on electrical engineering and information technology in Wiener Neustadt. He then studied medicine at the University of Vienna and successfully graduated in 2018.
After completing his basic training as a resident at the Penzing Clinic, he began his specialty training in 2019 in the psychiatry department at the Donaustadt Clinic, which he completed in 2024 with a specialty certification. At the same time, he completed psychotherapy training in psychoanalytic therapy with a focus on transference-focused psychotherapy. This training took place as part of a program at the Academy for Psychotherapeutic Medicine at the University Clinic for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy at Vienna General Hospital (AKH).
Since 2024, he has been working as a specialist in the psychiatric outpatient clinic and the consultation service at the Donaustadt Clinic.
At the heart of his medical practice is the whole person—with their individual needs as well as their physical and emotional circumstances. It is important to him not to view patients merely as a collection of symptoms, but to empathically recognize their true nature. In doing so, he places great emphasis on building a trusting doctor-patient relationship and providing comprehensive information about possible mental health conditions, associated symptoms, and available treatment options. He also places great importance on carefully investigating physical causes and factors.
To stay up to date with the latest developments and offer state-of-the-art treatments, Dr. Miksch regularly attends national and international professional conferences—including the annual meetings of the Austrian Society for Psychiatry, Psychotherapy, and Psychosomatics, as well as conferences of the German Society for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, Psychosomatics, and Neurology.
Dr. Miksch is happy to be available to you outside of his working hours at the Donaustadt Clinic as a private practitioner at the Wiener Couch.
