Clinical psychological treatment is scientifically based, professional support in coping with psychological, social and physical stress and illness. Clinical psychologists are experts who are registered with the Federal Ministry of Health. They have a five-year degree in psychology (Mag. or MSc.) and three years of postgraduate training with extensive practical experience. Their treatment approaches are based on precise diagnostic examinations and well-founded scientific theories that are precisely tailored to the respective problem.
Aim of clinical-psychological treatment
The main aim is to alleviate or eliminate mental disorders or conditions.
Methods of clinical-psychological treatment
Clinical-psychological treatment complements other healing methods such as medical treatment or psychotherapy. Numerous methods are available. Clinical psychologists combine various scientifically proven approaches that are tailored to the individual situation.
Procedure for clinical-psychological treatment
At the beginning of the treatment, a common goal is defined, expectations are clarified and possible problems are narrowed down in order to then initiate change through discussions, exercises and training. An important part of the treatment is the transfer of the treatment content into everyday life and continuous reflection on the change process.
First appointment
Each treatment begins with the definition of common goals, the clarification of expectations and the identification of possible problems. The necessary changes are then set in motion through discussions, exercises and training.
