The Feldenkrais® movement concept is based on the idea that sensitive self-awareness improves physical abilities and enables holistic changes in thinking, perception and action. Better contact with oneself and a positive self-image can be experienced.
The method, named after Moshè Feldenkrais (1904-1984), combines somatic learning with precise movement exercises. It is offered in two forms:
1. group lessons (ATM®)
The group lessons focus on sensing and perception exercises. In a playful and relaxed way, participants explore movement contexts and discover new, effective ways of moving, breaking through old, limiting patterns.
2. individual lessons (Functional Integration®)
In individual lessons, the Feldenkrais® practitioner moves the client gently and individually through functional movement sequences. This promotes efficient, effortless movement patterns - from everyday actions to complex demands for musicians, athletes or dancers.
The method helps with:
- Freedom from pain
- Relearning movements
- Improvement of mobility and complex movement sequences
Moshè Feldenkrais said in 1980: "We make the impossible possible, the difficult simple and the simple elegant." This principle is reflected in every movement and its tangible benefits.
