Group self-awareness propaedeutic (block courses 4 x 15 AE)
The Vienna Couch offers regular blocks of self-awareness for people with an interest in self-awareness in counseling and helping professions and for candidates for the preparatory course training program.
The group self-experience improves understanding and one's own ability to act in social events.
The deep structure of the group and the background of one's own person in the context of the other group participants are better understood in an intensive process of self-awareness.
We offer 4 different modules of 15 work units (WU) each on the following topics analogous to human psychological development: Closeness, attachment, autonomy and identity.

Physical closeness is vital for human survival in the first 12 months. As a biologically premature infant, humans are dependent on constant physical closeness with all its qualities and basic communication. It is important, for example, to mirror the child's emotions or to accept the attachment figure's egocentric view of the world.The first layer as the foundation of the psychological apparatus is introduced to the participants through self-awareness exercises.

A good bond is reciprocal: as a "role giver" and "role receiver", behavior and its regulation are constantly negotiated with the attachment figure. Attachment is based on successful closeness, which is what makes attachment possible in the first place. This seminar teaches the basics of attachment theory, explores your own attachment type and examines the effects on your current life in a self-awareness process.

Autonomy:

Autonomy becomes important from around the beginning of the second year of life. It plays a significant role during the period in which language and action skills develop. On the basis of a fundamentally secure attachment, the world can be explored independently. Ideally, the child experiences itself as self-effective, as acting independently and effectively.
In this seminar, we examine the personality layer of autonomy, the roles in which it is embodied and how it can be used as a resource in everyday life.
Other topics: Feelings such as shame and self-doubt, responsibility, decision, shame, self-worth and freedom.

June 16 and 17, 2018
The developmental theme of identity leads to a transition to the next level of psychological development. With the achievement of a differentiated understanding of the person and the consolidated ability to change roles, the child understands, for example, that at least three relationships are important in the family: their own relationships with their mother and father, but also the relationship between the parents. In this first social network, it is a matter of clearly positioning oneself. In the further course of development, the task relates to finding an appropriate place not only in the family, but also in larger social networks, such as in a self-awareness group.

The methods:
A self-awareness group is a form of group therapy. On the one hand, group self-awareness serves to experience the deep structures of the group. On the other hand, the dynamics, one's own roles and positions in the group and the associated personal experience can be used as an important source of self-awareness.
We work with psychodramatic as well as depth psychological methods such as constellations, sculpture work, sociograms, timeline/lifeline, imagination exercises and much more.
Participants directly experience psychodramatic and depth-psychological methods and their effects and gain new relationship experiences.

Creditability:
The seminar can be credited as self-awareness for the propaedeutic course and training as a clinical psychologist, as subject-specific prior experience for training as a psychodrama therapist and as self-awareness for various training courses after consultation with the respective training supervisor.
