Procedure for clinical-psychological diagnostics

An examination by a specialist in psychiatry should always take place before the clinical-psychological diagnosis. However, a suspected diagnosis can also be made by your treating psychologist or psychotherapist, but should then also be discussed with a specialist. A detailed assessment of the symptoms and a recommendation for the next steps will then be made as part of the clinical-psychological diagnosis.

The clinical-psychological diagnostics (€150 for 50 min./unit) includes the following elements:

• 1 unit: medical history, exploratory interview
• 1-3 units: Specification of standardized diagnostic instruments (questionnaires, interviews, test procedures)
• 1 unit: Discussion of findings

1. Initial consultation
   The current stress and life history are discussed here. The diagnostic steps are determined on the basis of the interview.
2. Test dates
   This is followed by several appointments in which standardized tests and questionnaires are used. As a rule, 3-5 appointments are necessary for this.
3. Compilation of findings and feedback meeting
   The information collected is summarized in a written report, which is discussed in a detailed feedback meeting. All questions are clarified and the next steps are recommended.
